A recent study reported in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry on 2350 adults older than 60 years found that those with gum diseases were three times more likely to have trouble recalling a three word sequence after a period of time. This is attributed to the presence of disease causing germs call Porphyromonas Gingivalis.

The association between poor oral hygiene and heart disease, stroke and diabetes as well as Alzheimer’s disease was well established but researchers now found that gum diseases could also influence brain function.

So if you want to keep your thinking skills intact you should start making trips to your dentists and practise good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing your teeth regularly.
